''Allahverdikhan Bridge'' that is one of the spectacular masterpieces of King Abbas's royalty, has been built under supervision and fund of his famous commander ''Allahverdikjan''. This bridge is also known as ''Siyise cheshme'', ''Chaharbagh'',''Jolfa'', and ''Zayandehrood''.
Construction date of the bridge according to Sheykh Ali Naghi Komrei's poem (King Abbas's poet) refers to 1625, when Chaharbagh street was made simultaneously.
''Allahverdikhan'' bridge is about 300m long and 14m wide, and is the longest bridge over ''Zayandehrood River''.
In Safavid era, Abrizan or Abpashan or Tirgan festival was feasted over Zayandehrood river.Many europian tourists at that time had mentioned this feast in their itinarary.
Jolfa's Armenians had a festival ''Khajshoyan'' surrounding this bridge.
''Allahverdikhan Bridge'' is one of the architectural and bridge-making feats in Iran which has a unique aesthetics and magnificence
This historical bridge which dates back to 1591-1597 A.D has a 295m long and 14.8 meters wids.
The bridge is over Zayandehrood river and joins abbassi street to Chahar Bagh – Bagh streetThe other names of this bridge are, Chahar Bagh, Julfa, Allahverdi khan. This bridge was built and designed by Hussein-e-Banna. Esfahani, during Safavid dynasty.
Do you know what is the relation between 33 arches of this bridge and jesus???
Allahverdikhan was a christian and after sometimes he accepeted Islam,,,jesus flew to the sky(Ascention) at the age 33
